It’s probably a good idea not to give your child one of the most-maligned first names in America.
Laura Wattenberg, author of a book entitled The Baby Name Wizard: A Magical Method for Finding the Perfect Name for Your Baby, conducted an informal survey to find out just what kind of names people dislike.

She found a few interesting trends. People dislike “gender-bending names” (when a boy name becomes a girl name like Addison) and names they can’t spell. People also often backlash against once popular names – these names too, must know what it’s like to be Britney.
The survey that a small minority of people people dislike “ordinary” names, but you know what? I bet those kids with “boring” names are thanking their parents for sparing them torment at recess. Thanks, Mom and Pop! (Although, this writer’s last name didn’t help.)
