Women’s suffrage has only been guaranteed in the U.S. since 1920, and this election day, plenty of women who were born around that year are getting out the vote.
Social media users posted photos of their voting grannies on Tuesday, sharing stories about nonagenarians and centenarians casting their ballots—many of them for the first female nominee of a major party. “Our 98 year old Nana just voted for the 1st woman Prez,” wrote one person. “Women couldn’t vote when she was born. go nana.” “My 90 year old grandmother has finally voted for a woman for President,” wrote another.
