A Tennessee teenager allegedly opened fire on his family after they told him to get out of bed and get ready for school, authorities said Tuesday.
The 16-year-old boy, whose identity was not released, is accused of shooting his grandmother, his 12-year-old sister and his 6-year-old nephew inside their Nashville home, police said. The teen’s 67-year-old grandmother, Earline Hill, was struck at least twice and the two children had graze wounds, according to Nashville police. None of the injuries were considered life-threatening, USA Today reports.
Authorities say the boy made “threatening statements” before getting his handgun from a closet and firing multiple shots inside the apartment. He ran out of the apartment but was later captured and charged as a juvenile with four counts of attempted homicide and one count of reckless endangerment.
